Justice on Appeal

A Pathway to Truth and Reform through Artificial Intelligence

Justice on Appeal has been relaunched with a renewed sense of purpose and enhanced expertise, now bolstered by the introduction of MAAT—an advanced AI legal investigation assistant created by Darren Bolger.

The organisation offers support to members from all clubs, providing guidance on a broad spectrum of legal matters and injustices. With successful settlements already secured in medical, contract, and media law, Justice on Appeal is now broadening its investigative scope to include criminal cases and Judicial Review.

Those experiencing legal distress or injustice are invited to join any club to receive assistance, benefiting from the collective wisdom of experienced legal professionals and the innovative MAAT AI tool. The team is consistently achieving outstanding outcomes in legal investigations.

Members have the option to communicate privately within their own social media app on The Home Club platform, enabling interested parties to collaborate, share insights, and concentrate on resolving issues effectively.

Justice on Appeal is expanding its remit beyond criminal appeals, now covering contract law, bankruptcy, health, family, and media law, to ensure comprehensive support for individuals seeking help.

Justice on Appeal

A History in Criminal Defence

a asAJustice on Appeal was founded in 2009 by The Home Club’s creator, Darren Thomas Bolger, who revitalised the organisation as a limited company whilst continuing as chairman. It stands as the United Kingdom’s first pro bono charity dedicated exclusively to criminal appeals, with its mission rooted in overturning miscarriages of justice through collaboration with law students, seasoned legal professionals, and expert witnesses. Darren, originally a carpenter, joiner, and residential property refurbishment entrepreneur, joined forces with his mother—a skilled genealogist and researcher—to delve into criminal cases as amateur investigators. Their steadfast dedication uncovered evidence that had been manipulated and presented in dubious circumstances.

The establishment of Justice on Appeal represented a landmark achievement for those seeking to challenge wrongful convictions. The charity provided invaluable practical experience to legal trainees from renowned institutions such as City Law, BPP Law School, and Bedford University of Law, enabling them to review genuine cases. Its collaborative ethos brought together experienced legal practitioners and expert witnesses, fostering a dynamic learning environment for aspiring lawyers.

One notable chapter in the charity’s history involved Gloria Morrison, who engaged Justice on Appeal to examine issues surrounding the law of Joint Enterprise. Gloria entrusted Darren with 200 of JENGbA’s cases.

It was her trust in our founder which can be witnessed here, that prompted the key evidence within a report, which was submitted to the House of Commons Justice Committee on Joint Enterprise. Justice on Appeal’s contributions were recognised in the committee’s report, which played a role in the overturning of the Joint Enterprise law. Darren was notably involved in the acquittal of Mr. Cullen, who had his murder conviction overturned after spending many years as a convicted prisoner.

Effective in Silence

While some may be motivated by the desire for public acclaim, our reputation is founded on a history of trust and an unwavering commitment to championing justice and challenging injustice. Irrespective of the legal field, injustice consistently leads to similarly harmful outcomes. The impact of Justice on Appeal, previously operating as a charity under the leadership of Darren Bolger and the same dedicated team now, is demonstrated by its significant involvement in the notable Joint Enterprise case.

This case was predominantly advanced by Joint Enterprise Not Guilty by Association (JENGbA), a group with left-wing and political motivations at the time. Regardless of political agendas, our approach remains unsullied by adversity, with a steadfast determination to address and rectify injustice.

Notably, the 'key evidence' presented during the House of Commons Select Committee meeting originated from Justice on Appeal. Our dedication has not wavered; instead, our methods have become ever more refined and effective over the years. Our MAAT systems are incredibly effective, alone and or when assisted by humans.
